Anti-Harassment and Non-Discrimination Policy

A workplace free from harassment and retaliation

1. Non-discrimination and equal opportunities

Aligned with Ecuador’s Constitution—which affirms that no one may be discriminated against for ethnicity, place of birth, age, sex, gender identity, cultural identity, marital status, language, religion, ideology, political affiliation, judicial history, socio-economic status, migratory status, sexual orientation, health status, HIV status, disability, physical difference, or any other distinction that seeks to undermine rights—Sendaluna rejects every form of discrimination.

This policy covers recruitment, testing, selection, hiring, training, transfers, promotions, rehiring, pay, internships, demotions, terminations, disciplinary measures, benefits, and all other terms of employment. Discrimination against employees or applicants on any protected ground is prohibited and subject to sanction.

2. Anti-harassment

Sendaluna provides a workplace free from harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. We prohibit harassment based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding), gender stereotypes or identity, country of origin, age, disability, ancestry, illness, marital status, citizenship, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any classification protected by Ecuadorian law.

In line with applicable labor reforms on workplace harassment, no employee, supervisor, director, client, vendor, supplier, or third party linked to our business may harass, discriminate against, or retaliate against staff, applicants, contractors, interns, or volunteers for any protected condition or activity.

Prohibited conduct

Offensive behavior and sexual harassment include, among other forms:

  • Verbal expressions: epithets, derogatory jokes, stereotypes, slurs, or unwelcome sexual comments.
  • Sexual conduct or display: leering, sexually oriented images, gestures, or similar visual content.
  • Physical conduct: intimidation, unwanted touching, or interference with movement or work.
  • Threats or demands: conditioning employment or preferential treatment on sexual favors.
  • Retaliation for reporting harassment or discrimination.

Gender-based and sexual harassment are prohibited regardless of the genders involved and whether conduct rises to a separate legal violation. Examples include repeated unwanted propositions, degrading comments about appearance or sexual activity, sexually suggestive displays, pressure for sexual activity, and unwanted physical contact.

No one is exempt. Alleged discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or related misconduct must be reported promptly to Human Resources for investigation and follow-up.
